  1. Subhanallah, there is so much to savour in this post. Every paragraph either reminds me of myself or makes me want to try something new. Regarding the The Rivers of Babylon, I can tell you that some Indians I know, who don’t know any western songs, just happen to know the words of Boney M’s other big hit, Rasputin. They have told me that it was playing everywhere they went in India in the 1980’s. Despite being a 1970’s band, it appears Boney M was wildly popular in most of Asia up to ten later. Go figure.
